Start with the official shop
The Alcázar is on Spain's list as a place to watch the sun go down over Seville, and getting in starts with the shop the Real Alcázar links from its own website: alcazardesevilla.infoticketing.com. The official FAQ is blunt about it: tickets are sold exclusively through that website, plus a same-day box office.
This is a planning guide, not a report of a recent visit. The rules and prices below come from alcazarsevilla.org and its official ticket shop, checked on 25 October 2026.
Why it sells out
Entry works in 30-minute slots with limited capacity, and you have to keep to the time on your ticket. The FAQ warns that on high-demand dates online tickets can sell out in advance. It also rules out the usual hopes: there are no waiting lists, no early releases and no alternative channels.
Official options first
- Use the box office quota. When a day shows as sold out online, the box office still keeps a very limited quota of tickets for every 30-minute slot. It applies to the standard palace visit only, not to the Upper Royal Quarters or the other activities. The box office is in the Patio de Banderas, opens at 09:00, takes cards only and sells for the same day only. Each person buys their own ticket in the queue with their ID or passport, so one person cannot queue for a group. On high-demand dates the FAQ recommends arriving at least an hour before the box office opens.
- Look at the other official visits. The shop sells separate tickets for the roofs of the Gothic Palace and the upper gallery of the Grutesco, the archaeological crypt, the Charles V workshops and the theatrical night visits. Each has its own ticket and its own rules, so read what each one covers before treating it as a substitute.
- Check the free options you might qualify for. Children up to 13 go free with an adult, and people born in or living in Seville city go free with a booking. The shop also lists a free Monday visit as its own product, booked like the paid one.
Guided tours with entry included
A guided tour is a different product from an individual ticket, and it is what platforms such as GetYourGuide sell for the Alcázar. Expect to pay more than €15.50; the operator picks the time and you follow a guide. If the slots you wanted are gone and the box office queue does not fit your day, it is the remaining way in.
If you book through these links, must30 earns a commission at no extra cost to you.
Timing that helps
From 1 October to 31 March the Alcázar opens from 09:30 to 17:00, with the clearing of the grounds starting at 17:45. From 1 April to 30 September it opens from 09:30 to 19:00, clearing from 19:45. It closes on 25 December and on 1 and 6 January, and opens only in the morning on 24 and 31 December.
The general ticket also covers the Antiquarium, Casa Fabiola and the Triana Ceramics Museum on the same day or the next, which is worth knowing if you are building a Seville day around it. For the sunset entry on the list, check the closing time against sunset on your date before booking a late slot. For evening light inside the walls, the official options are the theatrical night visits and the summer garden concerts, Noches en los Jardines.
What not to do
- Do not buy from a lookalike site. The Alcázar's own FAQ says tickets are sold only through its official website and the box office on the day. A site with "Alcázar" in its address is not the Alcázar.
- Do not buy a resold ticket. The conditions of sale say an illegal resale, or an attempted one, is grounds to seize or cancel the ticket with no refund.
- Do not send one person to the box office for everyone. Tickets there are sold only to the person in the queue, against their ID.
- Do not plan on changing the date. Tickets cannot be changed, cancelled or refunded, whatever the reason.
