Take a boat round El Arco to Lover's Beach
Land's End, Cabo San Lucas
The granite arch at the very tip of the Baja California peninsula, where the Pacific becomes the Gulf of California.
Book a short glass-bottom boat trip from the Cabo San Lucas marina that circles El Arco and stops at Lover's Beach.
What it is
El Arco, also called Land's End, is a granite formation at the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas, itself the far southern end of the Baja California peninsula. This is where the Pacific Ocean becomes the Gulf of California. Sea lions gather on the rocks. On the gulf side lies Lover's Beach, Playa del Amor, and on the rougher Pacific side Divorce Beach. Nearby are Los Frailes, two rock islets, and an eroded passage called the Arch of Poseidon, best seen from Lover's Beach at low tide.
How to do it
Boat trips go out to the arch from Cabo San Lucas and can drop you at Lover's Beach. On foot, you reach it from the beach of the last hotel on the Pacific side, climbing over large rocks.
Good to know
Divorce Beach faces the rougher Pacific, so keep any swim to the calmer Lover's Beach side.
